Learning Resources Centre
|
|
The Learning Resources Centre is staffed and open during the whole
school day, from 8.00am and 4.00pm - including morning and lunch
breaks.
Enquiries are welcome from students regarding any printed or
electronic reference material. An experienced Librarian is available
for any queries and if resources are not available she will help with
research.
All students are encouraged to make use of the centre's facilities and
it is in regular use as a quiet study area for sixth form students.
All Year 7 students are timetabled once a fortnight to come and use the
resources. If the centre is in use for a lesson, there is an annex
that can be used for independent study.
The school library contains over 9,000 books, covering the curriculum
as well as recreational reading, multimedia CDs and access to the
Internet on 48 PCs. Computers are available to students at most times
with access to a printer. There is a comprehensive careers library,
including up-to-date University prospectuses and Connexions visit twice
a week.
