Students at our school are able to access a broad and balanced curriculum. In year seven we offer the full range of national curriculum subjects as well as a skills based approach to learning. We offer accelerated courses for the most able as well as high levels of support for students who may require this.

Students are offered advice in choosing the most appropriate course of study at Key Stage Four. We offer three pathways which are designed to offer the greatest opportunities for students to enjoy their studies and achieve their potential. All students study the core subjects, English, Maths, Science, ICT, PE, Philosophy and Ethics, Citizenship and Personal Social and Health Education. In addition to this, there is a full range of optional subjects - ASDAN, Art, Child Care, Drama, Electronics, Food Technology, French, Geography, German, Graphics, History, Music, GCSE PE, Resistant Materials and Working Skills, Health and Social Care, Leisure and Tourism and Spanish. We also work with other educational providers to offer courses in Engineering, Construction, Health and Beauty and Motor Vehicle Repairs. We have an active Prince's Trust XL Club operating in partnership with the local Fire Brigade. |
We encourage students to continue in education after the age of 16 - the Thomas Paine Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses, both on our site and at Charles Burrell High School.
