Competition winners

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone at Charles Burrell and Rosemary Musker who participated in the Thetford Academy Logo Competition. The Student Councils had a lot of entries to choose from but in the end the winners were:

1st Place Charles Burrell – Patrya Prayuasa		1st Place Rosemary Musker – Hannah Goddard

2nd Place Charles Burrell – Mateusz Drupka		2nd  Place Rosemary Musker - Harry White

1st Place winners will each be receiving a Flip Mino HD Camcorder while our two runner ups will be receiving £10 vouchers for WH Smiths. Congratulations!

The logo and branding company, Marketing for Education (MfE), were also given the same brief and attended the meeting to share their design ideas. Feedback from the students on the designs were collected from the meeting and are now being incorporated along with ideas from our logo winners above into the final design. These will be shared with the Student Councils on May 24th.

Uniform news

The Student Councils were also given the chance to look at a variety of uniform designs and colours with uniform providers, Anglia Sports & Schoolwear. There was a unanimous vote to stay with the black blazers and trousers for the new Academy and the colour preferences were between a purple/light grey theme and a green theme.

More information on the uniform package and details on the process will be sent out to parents as soon as possible and put on this webpage … so watch this space.
