Our school opened in 1983 and can accommodate 700 students in years seven to eleven as well as those who attend the Thomas Paine Sixth Form. The school serves the Norfolk town of Thetford and the vast majority of our students live within walking distance of our school.
|
The school is fortunate to have a large site - with a wood, sports fields and several quieter areas with seats for students to relax at break times. Students' work is displayed around the site for students and visitors to see. Each subject has its own designated teaching rooms and appropriate facilities and we have recently added a sixth form block, English block and science laboratory. The school has its own library with ICT facilities as well as a well-equipped music room and dedicated drama studio and sports hall. There are three ICT suites plus other smaller ICT rooms and students have access to laptops in other lessons. We also make use of the local sports centre for swimming lessons and other activities. We have plans to develop our site further to enhance the learning environment for the students and the community. |
The school is an important part of the community of Thetford and our students are encouraged to take part in active citizenship projects that support the wider community.
